Esther S White is an artist, curator, and community arts organizer based in Northampton, MA. She is currently an Artist in Residence in Motherhood, using printmaking and craft methods to explore themes of memory, time, and identity. Her artists’ books, textiles, printmaking, and curatorial practice often combine the methods and critical approaches of multiple disciplines.
White earned a BA in Studio Art and Art History with departmental honors from Barnard College, Columbia University in 2007. At Barnard, White studied printmaking and photography in an interdisciplinary, conceptual-art focused studio program.
White teaches printmaking at Zea Mays Printmaking, an internationally-recognized studio and research facility dedicated to safer printmaking methods. White has exhibited her work locally, in New York City, Canada, Cuba, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, and New Zealand. Her work is included in a number of libraries, including the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Fleet Library at Rhode Island School of Design, and the Arts Library at Yale University.
